Owning Apple device is prestigious & costly so it create device owner think more about safety of his device from miss handling.

So being yourself iPhone, iPad and iPod touch device owner you must have bought cover or case for your device.

All iOS device has one functionality that closing flap cover sleeps or shut down iOS device whether be it iPad or iPhone or iPod touch.

Here is how to activate this functionality & make it work if it is not working on your particular device.

Go to ‘Settings’ > General > Lock / Unlock (Now activate Lock /Unlock slider by sliding it to right)

Voila…

You are done,

Now closing your particular iPad flap cover should sleep or shut down device & opening flap cover iPad will wake up to login prompt if any.

Hope it helps,

Thanks & Regards

  1. My lock/unlock switch was already on. I turned it off and then on again. No difference. This has been working since I got it last year, but today it didn’t work. What else could I try?

  2. I would like to hear a click noise when I turn the flap on my iPod
It seems it only stays a second and then stops
Is there something I ‘m not doing ?
    Thanks

      1. Mine was working until today, then it suddenly stopped detecting when the cover is closed. I have tried moving the lock/unlock switch, restarting, with no effect.

  3. Nice man! I was convinced my iPad or the cover was broken because I didn’t realize it was a simple setting. Seems like someone accidentally turned it off.

      1. Perfect….you solved my problem using the Display and Brightness function, then the Lock/Unlock…i was getting worried..

      2. Thank you … it had been working and then it stopped … I didn’t think it was the cover as it had been working for the past couple of years and I couldn’t figure it out. The above worked. Thank you for taking the time to share the steps.

      3. Thank you!!! This has been bugging me since I purchase the iPad Air 2. Problem definitely solved now 🙂

  5. My problem is not solved after doing everything that was suggested. I think the magnet is missing in this cover.
