Background
I recall being in my elementary school when everyone proudly described themselves as either US Return or Foreign Return. They took immense pride in the fact that they had achieved a status that their ancestors had never even qualified for, spanning over five generations. Typically, these men would return to India to marry a girl from their religion and caste. The bride’s parents would happily marry their daughter to a US Return individual, who was expected to be an ultra-rich, highly accomplished, and well-off person.
Today
However, something changed once I began attending college in the early 2000s.
As of today, 2024, the software industry is in a state of decline. There are no jobs, lower salaries, bankruptcy, and court cases of fraud between business partners and investors.
Notes, Readings and Observations:
Here are my own thoughts and personal experiences as I joined the same industry around 2007 as a designer.
Points that I recognized as contributing to catastrophe:
- Fake individuals with an attitude trying to switch jobs without basic knowledge of how to write or plan the first line of code.
- A lack of responsibility and integrity on both the employee and employer’s part, as they both prioritized taking on more projects at lower rates.
- The absence of human touch, care, and genuine social interaction. During meetings, the manager’s new status was often determined by how he mistreated his subordinates.
- Employees believed that enjoyment and personal growth came from compromising sexually or ethically to achieve a desired position or higher pay. This lack of trust and team spirit resulted from this mindset.
- Drinking alcohol, smoking cigars, and eating animal flesh, including killing animals in cruel ways, were seen as status symbols.
- Publicly denouncing millions of years-old religions or caste systems without understanding their significance.
- The rise of social media influencers who go half-naked or engage in sexual expressions on recorded videos to gain popularity. They believe that their actions are acceptable based on the opinions of others, but in reality, they become sexual objects for visual pleasure and fantasy. Once people start abusing them, they realize that they have become victims of this patriarchal society’s behavior towards women and other women.
- Despite these statements, employees believe they should receive lakhs of salary per month but forget that they lack the necessary skills to earn that much for the company they work for. They receive only 1/10 of the money they earn for the company as remuneration.
- Employees should be aware that their immediate replacement is always ready.
- One of my companies had a project that was shelved after four years because it was unsuccessful and the client simply didn’t understand how to use the product. It was a complete failure, but it was only realized after four years of hard work.
- There’s another misconception: that salary should be high from the very beginning. I used to guide new design college students who wanted to explore education and professional possibilities in the field of design. When a male student would visit me for guidance, he would never ask about salary; he would be focused on becoming as qualified a designer as possible. In contrast, a female student’s second question would be about her first package as a designer, even though she hadn’t even passed her HSC exam. After interacting with these individuals, I found it hopeless to engage with them because they never showed any interest in drawing, painting, or designing; instead, they would boast about their paychecks on social media.
- Software or IT professionals often exhibit a fake attitude, speak in overly formal English, wear expensive clothing, or make impulsive purchases on credit cards that will take them a long time to pay off.
- Additionally, their portfolios may be fake or stolen from someone else.
- Sometimes, they lack any opinion and resort to stealing designs by disowning their creators. This shows a complete lack of integrity, a disregard for the human touch, sensitivity, and concern for the mental well-being of others.
- There are few stories from top companies like Microsoft that mostly female employees use sex as a tool to get higher position in company.
- So this peoples are mentaly damaged then they fake depression or being sad all the time.
- They even have no integrity about homeland against fake numbers in salary they are getting.
- Another thing to consider is the company’s outdated practices. Companies often let go of thousands of employees in a single day, only to hire more the next day. Sometimes, they hire more employees than they can actually manage. Even in an unregulated business where any company can fire any employee at any time for any reason, the company can’t even provide a reason for the employees’ mistreatment. Just a month ago, an overworked female employee died on the job, and there was no communication from the company headquarters, no apology, or any sign of regret to the deceased employee’s parents. The company, the employee, and their top management showed a complete lack of concern for projects failing, employee deaths, or legal cases involving the company. Their only focus was saving their own skin, not the lives and financial well-being of others.
So if this continues I hope not there will be no sofytware outsourcing inductry in India as image we are creating our selves as lazy, untrustworthy and unskilled inviduals.
